Montenegro is deeply committed to the Alliance policies

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Srđan Darmanović, said that Montenegro was committed to Alliance policies, gender equality being one of them.

Today, Mr Darmanović welcomed NATO Special Representative for Women, Peace and Stability, Ms Clare Hutchinson, who is in her official visit to Montenegro in order to take part in the 12th Summer School “Gavro Vuković”.

Minister Darmanović expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of Ms Hutchinson to attend this important forum which gathered young diplomats from more than 30 world countries.

He said that Montenegro was working diligently on the application of the Action Plan of the Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council – Women, Peace and Security.

NATO Special Representative praised the contribution Montenegro made to the policy of gender equality and pointed out that our country had considerable number of women in the defense sector. She added that Montenegro was a good example of positive practice that should be followed in further promotion of qualified women.

They emphasized the importance of further enhancement of cooperation and exchange of experience with the aim of higher presence of women in the Alliance structures.
