Montenegro officially becomes member of IPPOG

Ministry of Science and its head, Dr Sanja Damjanović, expressed earlier this year interest in joining Intenrational Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPPOG). Ms Damjanović signed the Memorandum of understanding in Geneva today, by means of which Cooperation program with IPPOG will be established.

“Starting from today, IPPOG counts 28 members”, said the representatives of the Ministry.

The mission of the members is to maximize educational and promotional activities in the field of particle physics and to encourage younger generations to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

In 2016, IPPOG group became official scientific group.

“Accession to international organizations and membership in renowned scientific institutions has special importance as it has positive impact on the economy. But not only that. It also contributes to reduction in brain drain”.
