Montenegro received €600,000 from EU for digital transformation

The European Union, EU, allocated the additional €600,000 for preparation of necessary documentation for project that would reinforce infrastructure in the area of digital sector, that is, boost availability of broadband internet access, as the main precondition for digital transformation. This all aims to enable access to digital goods and services, use of digital economy potentials and strengthen competitiveness of the economy and society.

According to the Montenegrin Ministry of Economy, the EU allocated these funds to our country at the 20th Western Balkan Investment Framework Steering Committee meeting held in Berlin and organized by the European Commission and the Federal Ministry of Finance.

“The Project ‘Development of Broadband Internet Access Infrastructure’, developed by the Ministry of Economy, plans to ensure the construction of a quality infrastructure for speedy and secure internet for all households, legal entities, educational institutions and healthcare institutions, with the aim of providing support to the digital transformation of the society and economy,” the Ministry of Economy said in a statement.
