Montenegro sees shortfall in seasonal workers

From the beginning of year to 20 July only 3.995 seasonal workers were employed in Montenegro, three times less than in previous year.

“Last year there were 11.595 seasonal workers, which means that “Zaposlimo domaće” public campaign was successful and contributed to significant interest of domestic workers in season work”, said Mr Goran Bubanja, assistant director of the Employment Agency.

He said that unfavorable healthcare situation had affected seasonal employment.

“Employment Agency continuously carried out activities for the preparation of unemployed persons for seasonal employment. The objective of the activities is to inform, motivate and stimulate unemployed people to work seasonal jobs”, he said.

“Mr Bubanja reminded that recently held panel, entitled “Zaposlimo domaće”, stated that greater employment of domestic workers, unemployed people from the records, students and pupils in seasonal jobs would significantly contribute to the increase in budget funds.
