A total of 7.000 antibody tests were ordered to carry out a sero-epidemiological study in Montenegro, the Institute of Public Health told Dnevne novine daily. The complete delivery is expected by the end of June.

“3.000 tests for qualitative detection of total antibodies Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 from the Roche company and 2.000 tests for qualitative detection of IgM and IgG antibodies VIdAs SARS COV2 IgM and VIDAS SARS COV2 IgG from the company BioMerieux have been ordered. A part of the tests and needed devices has already arrived. The devices were installed and staff was trained to work on them. The remaining tests are to be shipped by the end of June”, the Institute told.

As they explained, the sero-epidemiological study which is being conducted on a statistically representative sample of the total population with the aim of detecting the presence of antibodies to the novel coronavirus, is something the Institute has planned to do in the following period.

In addition, the study will help them determine whether the antibodies are conferring protection and how long Covid-19 immunity lasts.
