At the session scheduled for 20 February, Niksic councillors will discuss the proposal to erect a monument to the national hero Cedomir Ljubo Cupic at the Liberty Square, writes Pobjeda.
The request has been submitted by the AD Mehanizacija i Programat company, which is engaged in the pavement of the central city square.
As stated in the City Council material, this company will maintain the monument at its expense. The money for the monument construction is provided by private donor.
On the bronze plaque, which will be placed in front of the monument, a five-pointed star will be drawn and the name of the national hero shot on 9 May 1942 in Niksic. His smile after the verdict to death has become a symbol of anti-fascism.
