More seasonal workers in Montenegro this year

Podgorica

Many programs of active employment policy are currently underway in the regional unit Podgorica, for the municipalities Podgorica, Danilovgrad, Cetinje, Kolašin, Tuzi and Golubovci.

“There are 9.414 active job seekers in the records”, said independent adviser in the Employment Agency, Ms Dragica Šćekić.

One of the reasons for the reduction in the overall unemployment is successful employment mediation in seasonal jobs.

“There are 2.568 unemployed domestic workers engaged in seasonal jobs, 1000 more than last year”, says Ms Ščekić.

Public works in the area of environment, education, cultural and other programs of public interest are being carried out and 189 persons from the records have been engaged in the activities.

“Neka bude čisto” project is in progress. Around 21 persons have got the opportunity to work.

Around 74 persons will soon acquire professional qualifications for the following skills: cosmeticians, hairdressers, accounting technicians and drivers of “vehicles in category B” and “C” category.

“At the beginning of September, unemployed persons will be given a chance to undergo training for acquiring professional qualifications and essential skills: English language knowledge, German language knowledge, computer skills…In that context, we are working on preparing interested candidates for inclusion in the programs through information and motivational seminars”, said Ms Šćekić.
