Mothers “speechless”

Mothers of three and more children will not stop their hunger strike until the Government annuls the decrease of their reimbursements, said member of Coordination board Zeljka Savkovic. She made this statement after President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic asked them to stop the hunger strike.

“We have no words to reply to his letter. We have been waiting for 19 days. He did not even visit us, call us, talk to us”, Savkovic said to MINA Agency.

Mothers have been protesting for 19 days in front of the Parliament of Montenegro because their reimbursements got decreased from 336 to 264 EUR and 192 to 144 EUR.

Savkovic said that mothers would not give up on their requests. They have already given the Government the chance to resolve this issue in the institutions.

“They offered us to join their working groups and solve the problems they have made for us, and we refused”, Savkovic said.

She thanked representative Andrija Popovic for visiting them in front of the Parliament last night.

“The Government must do something to make us move from here pleased because our rights were respected”, Savkovic said.
