Municipal police officers successfully impose law and order

Municipal police officers have managed to successfully deal with all the irregularities that have been bothering tourists and tarnishing the image of the city. Mr Dejan Škerović, the chief, says that after so many years, they have finally managed to impose order in taxi services.

“In cooperation with Association of Taxi drivers in Bar and Professional Trade Union, we have managed to reach 95% of legalized vehicles used for taxi rides. There are still those who clash with regulations – private hotels driving their clients and charging the services as if they were taxi drivers”, says Mr Škerović.

Off-market sale is past too. Almost. Since, residents of Bar and visitors could see “wild vendors” in the most attractive part of the Riviera – the promenade of Kralj Nikola.

“In that part of Bar, construction and urban and market inspection are in charge. However, we photographed the location and sent them to referred authorities”, says Mr Škerović.

The issue of stray dogs has been in focus recently,

“We won’t allow that our citizens walk in fear. This is the problem we have been trying to bring to an end for quite some time but its’ not simple. Many activities have been undertaken and even the funds for the constriction of asylums have been earmarked. We have to find another location, as the one we had chosen earlier won’t work. I’m not sure that asylums would resolve the problem”, says Mr Škerović.

Tow truck also had a lot of work to do this season.

“We urge people not to park their cars in front of coffee shops or near green areas. One tow truck isn’t enough and therefore the results can’t be satisfactory”, says Mr Škerović.
