New Durmitor soon to grace Zabljak

Preparatory works for the removal of the iconic Hotel Durmitor and accompanying bungalows started in Zabljak earlier today. The hotel was sold to Adriatic Properties, a renowned company operating in Montenegro for over a decade, now working to breathe new life into this charming but forgotten gem only a stone’s throw from the gorgeous Black Lake.

“Main construction works will start after the holidays. Zeković Company from Žabljak has been contracted for the construction. Based on the estimations of the contractor, the removal of old facilities will take anything from 35 to 40 days, so that we may avoid negative impacts on the forthcoming tourism season in Žabljak”, Goran Bencun of the Adriatic Properties told CdM.

After the implementation of this EUR 10 mil investment, Žabljak will be richer for a new 4 to 5-star hotel hosting some 150 beds.

“Being a socially responsible company, Adriatic Properties wants to support the environment and local industry and therefore will present the conceptual design for the new hotel on May 4th at noon, so that Žabljak residents and other interested parties may learn about the future plans for valorization of this facility and its surrounding area”, emphasized Mr. Bencun.

The old hotel, beautifully located in the midst of national park Durmitor, was sold under contract with Adriatic Properties in Sept 2016, waiting patiently for building permits and other urban planning documents.

The company has been successfully running Aman resort in Sveti Stefan, the Kraljičina Plaža hotel in Miločer as well and most recently, hotel Maestral in Pržno.
