New enlargement model brings the enthusiasm back in the Balkans

Geopolitical approach of the new Brussels administration is encouraging and that has paramount importance for all citizens of Europe and its global competitiveness, as well as for launching new enlargement model which brings the enthusiasm back into the Balkan region, said Montenegro’s president, Mr Milo Đukanović, during the meeting with the delegation of parliament representatives belonging to liberals, headed by the president of ALDE party, Mr Hans van Balen from the Netherlands.

As President’s Cabinet reported, Mr Đukanović said he was satisfied with the meeting.

He praised results achieved by European liberals in the last elections for the EP.

President briefed his interlocutors on the Montenegro’s commitment to our future in Europe , improvement of the rule of law and democracy, the key deficits of our region.

“NATO membership and leadership position in the EU negotiations confirm that we had defined our vision well and that we have capacity to overcome every obstacle”, Mr Đukanović said.

President of the Dutch liberals thanked Mr Đukanović for the warm reception and said that Montenegro had done a very good job.

Mr Balen emphasized the importance of open economies and overcoming business barriers, with full respect of the rule of law and tolerance.

“You are, without any doubt, part of the European family”, Mr Van Balen stressed.
