New govt in Tivat fired staff supporting DPS: 12 new apostles to be appointed

Opština Tivat

The new government in the town of Tivat sacked almost all previous managers in municipal secretariats and services who back the Democratic Party of Socialists. The bodies they were running are now abolished, reorganized or given other names, writes Dnevne Novine daily.

Secretaries who got fired are: Ms Rajka Jovićević (Secretariat for Finances and Local Public Revnues), Mr Marko Petričević (Secretariat for Investment, Landscaping and Sustainable Development), Ms Dubravka Nikčević (Secretariat for Culture and Social Affairs), Ms Tamara Furtula (Secretariat for General Administration), Mr Petar Vujović (Secretariat for Tourism and Entrepreneurship) and Ms Darka Ognjenović (Secretariat for the Young, Sports and Social Matters).

The Property Secretary, Ms Rita Mitrović, will remain as the head of the body that is going to deal with the property and legal representation of the Municipality of Tivat. Chief Administrator, Ms Marija Sijerković, will stay on the same position until her contract expires.

Some of them were offered by the President of the Municipality, Mr Željko Komnenović, lower positions, but they refused.

The new organization of the Tivat’s local administration will comprise 12 secretariats, services and directorates instead of the previous 16. Tivat’s ‘apostles’ will be nominated as acting secretaries on Monday, after which follow job schemes for all 12 bodies.

The Tivat’s DPS stated yesterday that the new government in the town of Tivat “failed their first examination of honesty and consistency in meeting their pre-election promises and showed its real face”.

They also reminded that the mandates of dismissed secretaries and directors of local bodies didn’t expire.
