Nikolić, emigrants in Istanbul: Montenegro’s independence our most beautiful story

Chairman of the Committee on Emigrants, Andrija Nikolić, stressed that Montenegro’s renewed independence represented the most beautiful common story of our country and its emigrants, adding that the representatives of diaspora were the ones who contributed to Montenegro’s independence and the long-term prosperity of our country and future generations.

During the official visit to the Republic of Turkey, Mr Nikolić held a meeting with the emigrants of the Association ‘ Karadağ – Montenegro’. The President of the Association, Mr Mustafa Deniz, presented the most important aspects and goals of this organization to the guests, and its future activities as well. The representatives of the emigrants were especially interested to find out more about the procedure of issuing emigrant records.

A member of the Montenegrin delegation, Mr Dragutin Papović, presented the possibilities envisaged by the new Law on Cooperation between Montenegro and Diaspora to the representatives of emigrants, emphasizing that now there’s a whole range of possibilities which prove that Montenegro is being committed to establishing closer relations with its diaspora.

Mr Ervin Ibrahimović, a member of the Montenegrin Parliament, said that the meeting attendees had one thing in common – love for Montenegro, i.e. their homeland.
