No one injured in explosion in the Niksic-based steel mill

In Niksic-based steel mill a mine exploded on Tuesday, 16 January, at about 11pm. The mine was in a furnace within iron waste which started melting. When the blast occurred, there were about twenty workers in the plant. Luckily no one was injured, Dan writes.

According to Dan, the explosion in the furnace was caused by a grenade that accidentally ended up in the old iron used for production. The interior of the furnace, the only one that produces steel in the plant, has been almost completely destroyed.

The police carried out an investigation that night. They will question all old iron suppliers the Toscelik steel mill administration cooperates with in order to find out how the mine ended up in the iron waste.

Dan was not able to get a comment from the company representatives. Unofficially, the newspaper was told that the furnace was restored and that the plant will try to continue the operations.
