Patriarch Irinej will be denied entry at Montenegro border

Patrijarh Irinej

The Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral within the Serbian Orthodox Church stated that Patriarch Irinej will come to Montenegro tomorrow but he won’t be allowed to cross the border, learns Pobjeda, a daily.

The weekend edition of Dnevne Novine daily recently published the list of people from Serbia declared persona non grata, and head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Irinej was on that list due to “the most vulgar offending of Montenegro, by stating that Serbs in Montenegro nowadays are in worse position than in the time of Ottoman occupation and the Independent State of Croatia.”

The Serbian Orthodox Church on Friday stated that Patriarch Irinej will come to Montenegro on October 15. They also told he will be accompanied by Patriarch Jovan X.
