Pesic accused of failing to represent the state’s interests

A proposal of the University of Montenegro’s Steering Committee proposed the Court of Honour on Monday to launch the proceedings against professor Vladimir Pesic, emphasising that he had violated the Code of Ethics. It stated that in his statements announced from July to November he had “directly offended and humiliated not only the University’s bodies and their members, but all the members of the academic community, whose activities were underestimated, as well as the government’s policies,” Pobjeda learns.

At its session on 8 November, the Steering Committee decided that Pesic’s case would be sent to the Court of Honour over negative statements on the account of the members of the Senate and the committee.

When the procedure for Pesic’s dismissal from the Steering Committee was initiated earlier and when the Senate voted for it, the professor then, among other things, attacked the academic community because he found it unacceptable to be dismissed because he had publicly supported the dismissed chancellor Radmila Vojvodic and criticised the decisions of the University.
