Podgorica Health Care Centre gets new paediatricians

Podgorica Health Care Centre has recently engaged two new paediatricians, which is the first step towards solving the problem of this profession deficiency, Dnevne Novine writes.

According to this institution’s director, Nebojsa Kavaric, another paediatrician will be hired, by which the promised number of paediatricians will be met. The situation is much better now, Kavaric says.

He added that there were no crowds in health care centres.

The Health Centre Podgorica was previously sent the Ombudsman’s report, made on the basis of the Parents Association complaint that this health institution did not provide sufficient number of paediatricians.

The Health Centre implemented Ombudsman’s recommendations. The Ombudsperson obliged the ministry to take all steps to enable the Health Centre to employ a sufficient number of staff, and we should continue to work on providing the optimal number of employees for the population,” Kavaric said.

The Parents’ Association representatives, on the other hand, are satisfied with the news. The NGO director Kristina Mihajlovic told DN that she hoped the increase in the number of paediatricians would continue, since a lot of children have recently lost their paediatricians.
