President Đukanović to pay a state visit to Hungary in autumn

Budapest invited Montenegro’s president, Mr Milo Đukanović, for an official visit in autumn, and President Đukanović accepted the invitation with pleasure, Mr Đukanović’s office said in a statement following his meeting with Hungary’s minister of foreign affairs and trade, Mr Péter Szijjártó.

According to President Đukanović’s office, it would be an opportunity to exchange the views on current events in the region, discuss issues of broader international significance and have an insight into the potentials for strengthening the economic relations through a larger number of Hungarian investments into the Montenegrin industry.

“President Đukanović thanked Hungary for paying attention to Montenegro in the time of the coronavirus, as well as for the donation of medical protective equipment handed over today by the high-ranking guest.”

They added that President Đukanović pointed out to the latest data on the epidemic at the national level, assessing that now we are entering the moderate risk phase and that all state bodies confirmed high level of functionality, efficiency and commitment.

In the context of European integrations, the President of Montenegro thanked Hungary for continuously stressing the importance of the integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union.
