Projects worth €300 million enhance Montenegro’s development

Projects financed by the German Development Bank KfW, implemented in Montenegro and worth around €300 million, were a great incentive to Government’s policies aimed at development, economic growth and better life standard, it was said in the meeting between Prime Minister, Mr Duško Marković and Director of KfW for Southeast Europe and Turkey, Mr Christoph Tiskens.

Main sectors where KfW has been implementing projects for the last two decades were connected to environment protection, more precisely, water supply and waste water treatment, as well as investments in the domain of energy.

“Investments amounting to over €80 million in water supply and waste water infrastructure, as well as forthcoming €120 million investments, are strong support for Government’s endeavors to strengthen sustainable development and ecology in the country”, said Mr Marković.

Mr Tiskens commended Government’s strong support to projects and acquainted PM with the current and planned projects in Montenegro, as well as with the ways of overcoming existing challenges reflected in objective restrictions in administrative procedures.

Mr Marković stressed the high economic growth, achieved despite fiscal consolidation measures.

He welcomed projects related to achieving energy efficiency in public institutions and said that energy sector was a great chance for investments.
