Public call for bilingual teachers soon to be published

Milica Lekic

The Ministry of Education intends to expand the number of bilingual classes in the Montenegrin primary schools for 2020/21, Ms Milica Lekić, a spokeswoman of the Ministry of Education, announced.

Ever since the project was launched three years ago, it has been expanded twice already, as it, according to Ms Lekić, proved to be extremely successful. Currently, there are 12 bilingual classes in Montenegro’s primary schools.

The public call for proficient bilingual teachers (they need to possess at least B2 level of the CEFR) will be announced in the coming days, said Ms Lekić.

“All the applicants will be tested and thus determined their level of knowledge of the English language, and those having the required level will be invited to the training,“ she explained.

The training itself has been designed in a way that it uses material from the University of Cambridge, especially designed for the CLIL program. Trainers/moderators involved in the process possess license from the British Council. The training includes 20 modules that ensure practical strategies for delivering other courses in English. Each module lasts around two and a half hours and involves intensive work.
