Radunović: We are going to continue to implement structural reforms

In 2020, we are going to continue to implement structural reforms: optimization of the number of public sector performers and reform of Tax Administration with credit support of the World Bank, which is going to increase budget revenues, said Minister of Finance, Mr Darko Radunović, in the meeting with the representatives of Moody’s agency.

Minister informed analysts of the agency on the results achieved last year and on the plans for the forthcoming period.

He highlighted consistency in the implementation of the measures of fiscal consolidation, which resulted in the increase of budget revenues.

“After two very powerful years, 2017 and 2018, with growth rates amounting to 4,7 and 5,1% respectively, the progress continued in 2019 as well. It was a very successful year. For the period of three quarters, we achieved a 3,8% growth. Such result is the consequence of growth recorded in almost every sector, tourism and construction primarily”, Minister pointed out.

Moody’s representatives presented assessment methodology and expressed interest for current topics.

During their stay in Montenegro, Moody’s representatives will meet with the representatives of the Central Bank of Montenegro, banking sector and international organizations and collect data on the basis of which they will make assessment of Montenegro’s rating.
