“Resist” movement will not turn into NGO

Džemal Perović

Leader of the “Resist” movement, Mr Džemal Perović, said that at the beginning of the week they had started individual negotiations with the representatives of the opposition parties over the further engagement. He also announced that the protests would resume. He said that “Resist” movement wasn’t going to become NGO.

“The main reason why we gave up on the pre-registration is the fact that a non-governmental organization does not encompass all the width of the civil movement. We are still looking for some way of formalizing our organization structure. It might be just a wide-range civil movement, but we’ll see”, said Mr Perović.

He pointed out that “Resist” movement was working diligently although it might not be obvious.

“We have started individual negotiations with the leaders of opposition parties and we expect to conclude them by the end of the week. The subject is the Agreement on Future and the degree of commitment to that document, particularly Paragraph 1 thereof, relating to the formation of the government of civic union whose main task will be to provide conditions for fair and free elections”, said Mr Perović.

Support to the protest on Sinjajevina

Members of the “Resist” movement announced that they would support rally on Savine vode on Friday, 12 July, under the slogan “Save Sinjajevina”.

Mr Perović said that any civil protest was a fight of all of us and that we all had to stick together.

“We will be on Sinjajevina on Friday. The next day we will be on a “Resist” caravan, around the north of Montenegro. We might even organize a protest in Nikšić in the evening”, said Mr Perović.
