Rožaje is getting rid of 50 municipal workers

Rožaje

The number of employees recruited in bodies funded by the Municipality of Rožaje will be decreased by 25% by the end of the year. The measures, envisaged by the optimization plan and adopted by Rožaje municipal assembly, will be implemented through new job schemes and abolishing of certain local services.

Members of the Bosniak Party, BS, yesterday voted in favor of the program, while the Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, Social Democrats, SD, and the Social Democratic Party, SDT, were against it and required the revision of the plan.

Mayor of Rožaje Municipality, Ejup Nurković, said the financial situation will certainly deteriorate if the adoption of the optimization plan fails. Members of the ruling parties and the opposition in Rožaje Municipality agreed that the situation in this municipality has been worse than ever, as it owes around €14,000,000 in total: €8,000,000 in loans to pay off and €6,000,000 in employees’ salaries.

Ejup Nurković still counts on the govt’s support when it comes to the optimization plan.
