Second block of the Thermal power plant in Pljevlja brings innovation

Saša Radulović

Chapter 27, Environment  and Climate Changes is the most expensive and most demanding chapter in the process of European integration. And with reason. Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development is very committed to meeting the responsibilities defined through the negotiation position and the Program of the EU Accession, said Saša Radulović, State Secretary in the Ministry and negotiator for this chapter.

By the end of this year,  a very important chapter 27 – Environment- should be open. The last report of the European Commission says that additional efforts are needed regarding the quality of water, protection of nature and  waste management.

“Closing this chapter means the investment for the future of Montenegro and is an absolute priority for all those who hood responsibility from the public and private sector and for the citizens of Montenegro equally. Montenegro has already done a lot: EC accepted our negotiation position and we’re optimistic about the “green light” trend of the EU member States, which would finally result in the opening of the chapter”, says Radulović.

“Second block of the Thermal power plant “Pljevlja” will have higher energy efficiency and that will reduce the emission of the greenhouse gases with the application of the best possible technology, defined by the European relevant documents. Therefore, Montenegro will carry this out through the general increase in efficiency,  modernization in the energy sector and higher share in the renewable energy resources”, said Radulović.
