A plane carrying 17 tons of medical equipment worth about €2 million, purchased by the Government of Montenegro, landed in Podgorica airport last night.
More than a million protective masks, 20.000 medical suits, 15.000 safety goggles, 150 thermometers for rapid temperature measurement, 3.000 coronavirus swab tests and 20 digital ventilators are just a part of equipment the government has purchased.

Simović: Montenegrin healthcare system is well equipped for the challenges ahead
Deputy prime minister and president of the National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases, Mr Milutin Simović, noted that Montenegro is readily entering the period when the epidemic is expected to reach the tipping point.
“With this equipment and the one from the other day, the Montenegrin healthcare system is well equipped for the challenges that lie ahead,” he stated.
Both Mr Simović and health minister, Mr Kenan Hrapović noted that if citizens did not comply with the prescribed measures, all this equipment would be insufficient.
Hrapović: Please, stay home
Health Minister urged the citizens to stay at their homes
“All this equipment cannot and will not be enough if we do not comply with the orders and recommendations of the health bodies and what we all have to obey, to stay at home, to stay in our homes, to save ourselves, to save others from us.”
