Works on the first kilometers of the Montenegrin highway are nearing completion. Although the exact date hasn’t been set yet, the first man of CRBC, Mr Kang Shifei, says that they will do their best to finish the first section by the established deadline.

“Construction works are 80% finished. We’ll do our best to finish the project by the set deadline”, said Mr Shifei.

CRBC is doing its business successfully over the world. However, they came across many challenges in Montenegro.

“This is the first time we came to Europe and faced the European way of doing things. The second challenge is bureaucracy and paper work we are already used to. And finally, the terrain itself – huge number of bridges and tunnels, deep gorges, high mountains, unfavorable configuration and rock mass. Therefore, this was a very challenging project”, says Mr Shifei.

However, once the project is finished, everybody will feel the benefits.

Highway will have many advantages: it will take less time to travel to the coast. Montenegrin citizens will feel the economic benefits instantly.

The most demanding part of this great project was construction of Moračica bridge, the architectonic miracle and the symbol of Bar-Boljare highway. It’s also the most expensive structure in the priority section of the highway (€74,5 million).

“I think Moračica will be the most conspicuous part of the project. It was very complicated due to high pillars and complexity of construction, tunnels etc”, said Mr Shifei.

He added that around 3000 workers had been engaged in the construction.

Mr Shifei explained that plans were afoot for the negotiations over the second highway section.

“Our main focus is to finish this section in due time. After that we’ll see what will happen with the next section. Our cooperation with Montenegro’s Government is stable and we firmly believe it will further improve in future”, said Mr Shifei.
