Ten to Eight – Who disclosed secret data

You are reading a daily contextual review of the news that marked the previous weekend.

By Ljubomir Filipovic, CdM observer

We have warned that the non-transparency and secrecy relating to the security situation can only do harm because it leaves room for various information leaks and different interpretations. Yesterday we wrote that Knezevic and Abazovic have opposing views on the situation, today we see that the conflict between Special State Prosecutor (SDT) and Milan Knezevic is heating up, which has been going on since the time when the Prosecutor’s Office conducted investigations into Knezevic, relating to the 2016 coup.

What happened and how did the story about the secret data start yesterday? At the press conference, Milan Knezevic presented data that were not available to the public. The first is that Luka Bulatovic’s suicide has nothing to do with the wiretapping device found in the SDT offices, and the second is that some information related to his case has been presented. Allegedly, there was almost a physical confrontation between the two.

The Special State Prosecutor’s Office responded to Knezevic’s accusations, and pointed out that Knezevic provided secret information, which is why they will not participate in the work of the Defense and Security Committee, which he chairs, in the coming period.

Knezevic later addressed the media and accused Katnic of leaking information to Vijesti, as well as that he did not feel safe and that he would ask for permission to carry a weapon.

Pressuring Tax Administration after Damjanovic’s dismissal

The SNP reacted due to alleged pressures on the Revenue and Customs Administration, after Aleksandar Damjanovic had been dismissed. These pressures refer to the Administration workers who signed a petition against Damjanovic’s dismissal. The SNP directly and specifically accused Janko Odovic of the pressure.

Damjanovic did not comment on this, but said that he expected an invitation to hand over the duties to the new director Milena Petricevic, who has already taken over the Administration management.

We will not deprive you of the right to vote automatically

But manually we may have to. Minister Sekulovic continues to emphasize the story about whether anyone has ever criticized the government because it wants to take away someone’s citizenship. It was never a topic of criticism, but a concrete story about residence and the right to vote in elections, which Sekulic once spoke about publicly, when he heated up tensions by saying that the diaspora sends money only to their families and the like. And now, at a meeting with the diaspora in Belgium, he avoids answering, which means that these people will not be automatically deleted from the voter list. If it won’t happen automatically, it means that it will somehow – how and by what criteria, he avoids answering.

Duck school

After the DPS MP and former PM Dusko Markovic praised Minister Jakov Milatovic for deciding to support the Kolasin project, which he had previously criticized, Milatovic responded by quoting Jova Jovanovic Zmaj’s verses on Twitter.

They used to call it embarrassing by transferring embarrassment, today they call it cringe. That is what I feel by reading the correspondence, jokes and calling on former and current ministers and officials.

Tamara Srzentic’s reaction to Gradski.Me

Imagine that Minister Srzentic reacted like this to the constant flooding with hatred from IN4S and from the Serbian media, which spread hate messages every day through broadcasting via frequencies and cable operators in Montenegro:

The task of the Ministry of Public Administration, Digital Society and Media is not to determine sanctions for possible violations of the Law or the Journalists’ Code, which is why we appealed to the Electronic Media Agency to take action within its competence regarding the content broadcast in the Gradski TV on 23 October.

That’s it for today. We wish you a pleasant rest of the day.
