The government in Budva is hanging by a thread

Budva

Political crisis in Budva is becoming more and more serious every single day and the governing coalition is hanging by a thread. Democrats are accusing their coalition partner of forming new political majority with the DPS. Representatives of DPS say it’s just a made-up story as it’s the only thing Democrats always do .

Members of DF, DPS, Social Democrats and independent member Mr Stevan Džaković voted yesterday against the agenda and, therefore, the meeting of the local parliament wasn’t held. Twelve councilors requested that the conclusion over adoption of measures aimed at protection and improvement of the environment be put on the agenda. This conclusion would invalidate the Protocol on the donation which the President of the Municipality of Budva, Mr Marko Carević,  signed with the Turkish „Mia Investment“ company.

In the statement provided to CdM, Mr Dragan Krapović accused Mr Marko Carević of evading the truth and public hearing while stating he was in a deal with DPS.

Chief of the DPS Councilor Club, Mr Marko Vuković says that the existing crisis has never actually ceased. He dismissed the speculations over the deal between DPS and DF.

Mr Marko Vuković – DPS

“That’s what the Democrats do.Insulting people. They’re accusing others of the things they are in. And using such rhetoric they are defending themselves from doing nothing.  For two years of their government they achieved nothing. Their accusations are totally groundless. With the budget of €40 million they didn’t carry out any important project. Budva is a top destination and this is how it might be ruined. Unlike Democrats, DPS is acting responsibly”, says Mr Vuković.
