Statistical data on the number of guests indicate that Tivat is predominantly airline destination, said the Secretary of the Municipal Secretariat for Tourism and Entrepreneurship, Mr Petar Vujović.
He pointed out that pre-season this year had been very successful and that the results had been better than last year.
“In comparison to the last year, there are by 15% more tourists in Tivat. Foreigners stay for 7-10 days and private accommodation makes up 90% of total structure of accommodation capacities”, said Mr Vujović.
According to the data gathered by the Secretariat, the revenue generated from local taxes amounted to €242.241, 15% more than in the same period last year.
“Hopefully, the profit will increase by the end of year”, said Mr Vujović.
In 2009, number of overnights in Tivat amounted to 39.975 for the whole year. That turnover was recorded in May this year.
“That clearly shows how interesting Tivat has become”, pointed out Mr Vujović.
