Vijesti keeps publishing dominantly negative articles about President Đukanović

Đukanović

A new research of the agency that conducted close monitoring over the Montenegrin media, focusing on the level of representation of high-ranking officials, shows that Vijesti (portal, daily newspaper and TV) published in April somewhat less reports on the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, compared to the number of articles about him in January, February and March. But the number of negative posts about Mr Đukanović, according to Dnevne Novine daily, is still pretty high.

“In all three media which make up Vijesti – newspapers, portal and television – share of negative posts related to president Đukanović exceeds 60%. Therefore, taking into account all the reports on Mr Đukanović published by this media company in April 2019, the public could undoubtedly create negative image of president Đukanović. However, the general image has mildly improved, as the number of negative articles about him decreased for 136, “shows the analysis of the Montenegrin media scene.

Reporting in April greatly focused on the information referring to the ‘Atlas’ and ‘Envelope’ affairs, as was the case in January, February and March.

In addition, according to these most recent data, the ratio between planned and unplanned articles about President Đukanović in April points out to ‘a very high media presence’ in newspapers, portal and television of Vijesti.

“Planned publications make up 12.89 per cent of the total number of publications, while the remaining 87.11 per cent refer to the unplanned posts,” suggests the analysis that Dnevne Novine daily had the insight into.
