President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic states Montenegro’s decision rejecting to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel doesn’t mean Montenegro is defying Donald Trump or the US.
Speaking on Voice of America, Vujanovic told our decision speaks clearly of Montenegro’s support for the Middle-East peace talks. “Montenegro has been developing its relations with Palestine and Israel and it continuously supports peace talks between the two states”, emphasized Vujanovic.
The United Nations general assembly voted overwhelmingly to condemn Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Montenegro also added its name to the document condemning the US recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
