We have neither strategy nor plan if case numbers surge again

Most tourist destinations introduce more rigorous measures to curb the coronavirus. The Greek government, for example, has decided that tourists cannot enter restaurants and bars if they hadn’t been vaccinated against Covid-19, Spain introduced curfew again, and there are certain limitations for hanging out and nightlife. As for Croatia, they’re thinking about banning the work of night clubs and concerts. Authorities in Montenegro claim that the situation is stable and that we have more favorable indicators than Cyprus, Spain, Greece and Turkey, writes Pobjeda daily.

Asked whether there were plans to introduce additional measures concerning the entrance of foreigners in our country, the Public Health Institute said that the matter didn’t fall under their competence, as those decisions were made by the Council for the Fight against the Coronavirus, based on the epidemiological situation in both the county and the region.

They didn’t get the latest information about the Delta variant either, and as for the third dose of vaccine they said: “The introduction of a third dose of vaccine will soon be on the agenda of the National Advisory Committee on Immunization.”

For now, the situation in Montenegro in terms of the number of new cases and the dead is stable, the Institute states.

Around 10.000 tourists had been tested for the coronavirus in Montenegro so far, of whom 82 tested positive, accounting for less than 1%.
