Germany recognizes Montenegro’s strong political will to join the EU and official Berlin will definitely provide necessary assistance, said ambassador of Germany, Mr Robert Weber, during today’s meeting with the president of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Aleksa Bečić.
Mr Bečić pointed out Germany is Montenegro’s true friend and thanked the ambassador for the continuous commitment to bilateral relations and support for Montenegro’s European aspirations.
“Mr Bečić said he expected that stable cooperation would continue during German presidency over the EU Council”, the statement said.
Ambassador gave compliments of Bundestag to Mr Bečić for his recent appointment.
“Both sides expressed interest in the continuation and intensification of parliamentary cooperation at the level of parliamentary working bodies. Mr Bečić pointed out that he would work on strengthening legislative, supervisory and control role, as well as on judicial reform and comprehensive reform of election legislation”, the statement said.
