Prizori plastike u okeanima nisu novost, ali je snimak sa Kariba šokirao svijet. Na njemu se vide tone smeća na obali Dominikanske Republike.

Nevladina organizacija “Parley fot the Ocenas” objavila je snimak navodeći da se radi o 30 tona plastike koja se nalazi u moru uz plažu Montesinos u glavnom gradu Santo Domingo.

Velika akcija čišćenja započela je u srijedu, a više od 500 ljudi učestvuje u njoj.

“Ovo je potpuno šokantno, ali ono što je još gore je da ovo nije novost u Santo Domingu”, rekla je aktivistkinja Karmen Danae Čamoro.

Kako je navela, do ovoga dođe svaki put kada padne jaka kiša, kao i da je zbog toga važno da se o tom problem govori.
