On 30 August 2022, the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor submitted a bill of indictment to the Basic Court in Kotor against Marko Bato Carevic, as well as his son Milan, and the court process is ongoing, Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor has told Antena M.

The bill of indictment against Marko Bato Carevic was issued for the criminal offense of illegal occupation of land in Krimovica.

His son Milan is also charged with the criminal offense of illegal occupation of land and the criminal offense of building a facility without registration and construction documentation.

The bill of indictment includes the Carinvest company.

As a reminder, MANS announced back in 2020 that the agricultural complex in Krimovica, which was built by the Carinvest company owned by the former Budva mayor Marko Carevic, was built on half a million square meters of state land, where buildings were built without a construction permit.

MANS also stated that this usurpation has been going on since 2015.

According to the media, Marko Bato Carevic was at the head of Carinvest until the end of December 2018, when he gave the position to his son Milan, since he had been the mayor of Budva since January 2019.
