EU backs innovative project ideas with nearly €1m

Thirteen projects will be funded in the total amount of 953 thousand euro under the EU Pre-Accession Assistance Program to Montenegro (IPA II) – “Collaborative Grant Scheme for Innovative Project Ideas”, the Ministry of Science announced.

One of the main goals of this Grant Scheme is to engage young researchers and PhDs in the academic sector, industry and the non-governmental sector, to contribute to the strengthening of research and innovation systems through the realization of innovative ideas and to increase the competitiveness of the national economy through the process of commercialization.

The value of an individual grant contract ranges from 60,000 euro to 80,000 euro, while the period of project realization is from 18 to 24 months.

In order to provide additional support for grant beneficiaries, the Ministry of Science, in cooperation with the EU, is also implementing a Technical Support project through which beneficiaries will be given direct expert support for the implementation of grants in full compliance with EU standards. The value of this project is 116,000 euro.
