The international maritime route between Budva and Dubrovnik that started operating today will reduce traffic congestion and contribute to the development of tourism, the Transport and Maritime Affairs Minister, Filip Radulovic, stated.

As he said, the route was announced in January but many thought it wasn’t going to realize.

“We did to today. I would like to thank my colleagues from the ministry for their outstanding work, as well as the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management,” the Minister noted.

The ship called ‘Antonija’, owned by the Kompas agency, will be carrying the passengers twice a day.

Minister Radulovic assessed that the newly introduced maritime route would reduce traffic congestion  between Herceg Novi and Dubrovnik, and contribute to the development of tourism in Budva.

“The government is focused on the infrastructure projects. The ship route between Bar and Ankona will begin operating on 9 July, there’s also a tender for the construction of a bridge over Scepan Polje, as well as the railway station with Serbia.”
