“There are reasons to believe that since March 2006 the suspects, as the responsible persons in two legal entities, as well as officials in relevant government bodies, have organised a criminal group in Niksic, Podgorica and Cetinje in order to obtain illegal gain. There is a reasonable suspicion that the suspects used the economic structures of the two entities and exercised influence on officials in state bodies, by taking actions within their powers in companies in order to obtain illegal profit. Also, the officials in state bodies undertook official actions within the scope of their tasks that were not in the interest of official duties they perform, but in the interest of carrying out the criminal plan, which significantly cost the community,” SDT stated.

The questioning of the suspects is ongoing.

CdM unofficially learns that they have been arrested due to the abuse of office in business operations and abuse of office in an organised manner in the case of Cetinje-based Bauxite company.

As a reminder, four years ago Niksic police filed criminal charges to the Basic State Prosecutor Office against the former director of CKB Bank Niksic branch office Radoslav Nikcevic on suspicion that he abused his office in business operations.

As a chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cetinje-base Bauxite company in 2008, Nikcevic allegedly used loans obtained from the Directorate for Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises to clear up the clients’ overdrawn accounts in CKB branch in Niksic rather than to purchase new equipment for ore exploitation.

In this way, he cost the Cetinje-based Bauxites company €200,000.
