Rejecting Aluminum Plant would make electricity bills go up

Kombinat aluminijuma Podgorica

“Uniprom” company, which has been administering Aluminum Plant since the middle of 2014, submitted the request for the determination of status of the electrical energy distribution system, reports the Energy Regulatory Agency. In case this agency rejects the request of “Uniprom”, there’s a possibility that electricity bills go up.

Representatives of the Energy Regulatory Agency say that this request actually aims to turn the system operator into a special organization whole. They also report that closed distribution system is a new institute, envisaged for the first time by the Law on Energy from 2016. Distribution infrastructure serves for the distribution of electrical energy in geographically limited commercial systems or systems of common services. As a rule, operator of the closed distribution system supplies the users of this system but, every user can, in accordance with the general law, choose another electrical energy supplier.
