Ten to Eight – Abazovic’s Interpellation to Follow?

Good morning! After Parliament proposed the dismissal of three ministers, is it time for the Deputy Prime Minister’s interpellation? Becic is skeptical about the memorandum; Spajic thinks that new laws could cause dismissals; Cirgic reacted to Aleksic’s threatening messages; arrangements in Budva were canceled, and the program of economic citizenship extended.

Is Abazovic’s interpellation to follow?

After Parliament voted on the interpellations of three members of the government, Dritan Abazovic said on a TV show last night that it was the defeat of one government, and that if the majority does not want him to be deputy prime minister, he should not be deputy prime minister. DF MP Jovan Vucurovic reacted to that immediately and said that Abazovic does not have the support of his political entity.

“Let us immediately inform Abazovic that he has not got our support. So, it would be correct if he resigned immediately, because someone might think that he is the most ordinary good-position keeper who, as the only politician, became a member of the expert government”, said Vucurovic.

Therefore, it is up to the opposition to immediately submit a proposal for the interpellation of Abazovic on the first working day of Parliament.

Discussing minority government again

Abazovic fueled rumors again in the same show last night, alleging that there are agreements with the DPS. Although he said that he did not meet with anyone from the DPS, he said that Djukanovic was stepping down, that there were three options on the table, and that the proposal on a minority government, if any, would go to all parties, which means to the DPS as well. Aleksa Becic said that he did not believe in any memorandum that does not exclude cooperation with the DPS.

Tree trunks in Berane

A group of Berane citizens blocked the road again in order to express support for the interpellated ministers, primarily Minister Vesna Bratic, who gained the sympathy of radical and extreme political circles within the ruling majority. The hit of religious processions “Montenegro has risen, Saints must be defended” has received a new version, which you can listen to here.

Spajic expects layoffs

Despite the generally optimistic tones regarding the adoption of the budget and accompanying legal solutions, Minister Milojko Spajic said in an interview for Vijesti yesterday that he expected that “there will be unscrupulous employers who will try to comply with the new rules”, adding that in the short term there will be such situations but that the Greek scenario is not possible. He often repeated the Greek script in the interview. Too often.

Threats to the Minister of Health

The Minister of Health, Dr Jelena Borovinic Bojovic, reported to the police another threat to her life, but also to the life of her family, the Ministry said. The Ministry of Health stated that the threats arrived at a private e-mail address, from an anonymous sender, but, that the “manuscript” and the manner of addressing it were the same as before. “The consequences… must be borne by you and your family. The moment of our meeting is approaching. We are ready”, reads, among other things, the threat to the Minister of Health.

The threats were condemned by some ruling parties, and all opposition parties.

Cirgic replied to Budimir Aleksic

After Budimir Aleksic, from the position of DF MP and member of the Board of the University of Montenegro, started the story about closing down the FCJK, the dean of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, Adnan Cirgic, told him to feel free to start the initiative. Aleksic said that the FCJK is an anti-scientific institution, which was created as a whim of the former regime in order to satisfy a regime henchman who wants to create a new language in the spirit of conceiving a new identity of Montenegro.

We recommend that you read entire Cirgic’s answer here.

Cancellation of the arrangement in Budva

A large number of reservations were canceled in Budva after yesterday’s introduction of stricter measures against the coronavirus, said a member of the Board of Directors of Budva’s hospitality workers, Marko Markovic. He believes that it is not possible to compensate for the loss of hospitality workers, and that many will close the bars after midnight and go on a collective vacation.

Extended economic citizenship program

The Government of Montenegro has adopted a proposal for a decision on economic citizenship, which states that the program will be extended to 12 months, and the decision was adopted at an electronic cabinet meeting yesterday. “The program is being extended for 12 months – due to objective reasons of the people who negatively affected the implementation of the program in the previous period. The program is additionally provided – by the fact that all existing investors must submit a bank guarantee to the Government in the next month – in the amount of 50% of the investment prescribed by the program”, the Government announced.

That’s it for today and for this year. See you again in the New Year 2022. Cheers!

Kind regards,
