The new Government wants to revise the third package of measures

Although the new government has not been constituted yet, the future prime minister-designate Mr Zdravko Krivokapić, has already formed a team dealing with economic issues. One of the first tasks of the mentioned team, as Dnevne novine has learned, is to revise the Third Package of Economic Assistance, which was adopted by the previous Government.

The government aided the economy with three support packages. The latter, worth €1.22 billion, covers a period of four years. The package for the most vulnerable tourism sector includes a reduction in the VAT rate on food and beverage services from 21 to seven % per year, subsidizing interest rates on loan rescheduling with banks and the Investment Development Fund, providing subsidies for private accommodation issuers, more favorable liquidity loans.

The third economic package for the IT sector provides incentives for starting a business and startups exempt from taxes for up to five years, tax reductions and contributions for employment up to 50 % in innovation, exemption from taxes and contributions for work on innovative projects, exemption from profit tax in 100% amount for reinvestment in projects and for investment in startups and funds for financing innovative projects, as well as for donations to scientific research institutions.

It also envisages reduction of real estate tax for the construction of infrastructure for innovative activity and establishment of the Innovation fund.
