The week behind us was marked by the information that the Ministry of Health had forbidden New Year celebrations both outdoors and indoors due to the coronavirus epidemic, and that the Government of Montenegro had announced the shout-down of Montenegro Airlines, which caused numerous and emotional reactions of the public. 1. New measures: Outdoor and indoor New Year festivities forbidden, intercity traffic during holidays banned

The Ministry of Health has introduced new measures aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus, which amongst others, forbid the celebration of New Year in both open and closed areas.

The director of the Property Administration, Mr Dragan Kovačević, was arrested on 23rd December, on the order of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, in connection with the registration of a house in the marine zone, which was registered under the name of his son.

4. Hilarious statement by the director of IJZ: ”I would not recommend death from the coronavirus even to the worst enemy”

The director of the Institute for Public Health (IJZ), Mr Igor Galić, “would not recommend the coronavirus to even the worst enemies”.

5. The Ministry of Health changed the Order: No movement during Christmas and New Year holidays

The Ministry of Health, headed by Ms Jelena Borovinić Bojović, changed the Order for the implementation of temporary measures aimed at prevention of importation, suppression, and prevention of spreading of the new coronavirus, so, the movement during night hours for the duration of Christmas and New Year holidays will not be forbidden.

6. Damjanović on the attack on him and Bubanja: Beaten because we are Montenegrins

The well-known Montenegrin activist Mr Igor Damjanović posted on Facebook the details of last night’s attack on him and Mr Miro Bubanja, stating that they were beaten up because they are Montenegrins. As he explained, the conflict happened near the Comandor bar, and it could have ended fatally.

7. Is Berane in Montenegro?

This year, the local administration of Berane “decorated” the lighting poles with light bulbs in the tricolor-flag colors. One cannot find a  Montenegrin landmark anywhere, just as if the city is not even in Montenegro.
