Saranovic sues Govt. for electing Radovic as acting police director

Danilo Šaranović

Yesterday, Minister of Internal Affairs Danilo Saranovic filed a lawsuit against the Government with the Administrative Court due to the recent appointment of Aleksandar Radovic as Acting Director of the Police Directorate.

Saranovic claims in the lawsuit that the executive power, after rejecting his proposal that Lazar Scepanovic become the head of the police, illegally authorized PM Milojko Spajic to propose a new candidate, that he illegally proposed Radovic and that this was why that police official was illegally elected to the position, Vijesti reports.

For this reason, Saranovic is asking the Court to cancel the decision on the appointment of Radovic, and as the reasons for this, he cites incorrect application of substantive law, violation of procedural rules and wrongly determined factual situation.
