The public Agency for the Coastal Zone Management and Dukley Marina signed the agreement on the handover of the Port of Budva to the state. Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said he guaranteed that the state would stand behind Budva, because only it could “push” such large projects. Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Filip Radulovic said that the Budva-Dubrovnik route would be opened in a few weeks.

Spajic pointed out that with the opening of the Budva-Dubrovnik route, Budva would become a Mediterranean, Adriatic city in the true sense.

By taking over the management of the port, conditions are created for the establishment of a ferry route with Croatia, but a chance is given to the development of the Port of Budva for the benefit of all citizens, stressed Radulovic.

Effective cooperation between the Government and the Agency for the Coastal Zone Management resolved the issue of another resource in a short period of time, which has now been returned to the citizens. Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property Janko Odovc pointed out that in that way the injustice due to the poor utilization of the port’s potential was being corrected.

The Agency for the Coastal Zone Management initiated this idea and its director Mladen Mikelj pointed out that it was a continuation of three-year efforts to return important resources to citizens.
